We provide recreational activities in the village of Holme on Spalding Moore. We have a Thursday night youth club (Connect Youth) staffed with volunteers and a youth worker. In this session we encourage young people to build skills through informal learning activities. These activities are beneficial to young people, supporting their mental health and helping to build their self-esteem through providing activities that they enjoy. We would like to develop this service further and equip the staff to complete mental health first aid training and volunteers to complete mental health awareness training so that we can provide support for young people in mental health crisis. This session includes a hot meal for the Young people.

On a Friday morning we have a toddler group (Connect Toddlers) this group is run by volunteers and is supported by the local children’s centre. This group is a key support to mums in the community to support one another. This session includes a picnic lunch for the participants.

• To be able to ensure the stability and longevity of the charitable activities through staffing appropriately.
• To support families living in rural community with limited access to public transport.
• Provide learning opportunities for the children and young people attending the session.
• To support Young people who are in mental health crisis through the youth club session.
• Improved self-esteem for children and young people through providing activities that they enjoy.
• Building positive relationships with users and staff and the community to be able to improve the local community.
• Support those who face food insecurity by providing a meal at every session.
• The voices of the children and young people to be amplified in the community through fostering positive relationships with key stakeholders such as the police and parish council.
